Usher Over-21 Worker File
For adult clubs and adult shops

“How did you know she was 21?” Have the answer.

Usher keeps the record of every ID check — which kind of ID, who issued it, who checked it, when, and that the worker was 21 or over — and will not put anybody on tonight’s sheet without one. It never keeps a copy of the ID or a date of birth.

The problem

The law asks for the check. It does not keep it for you.

Since July 2024, Florida says nobody under 21 works at an adult entertainment establishment in any capacity — dancers, bartenders, door staff — and whoever lets them work must first carefully check a licence, a state ID, a passport or a uniformed services ID. Not knowing their age is no defence. A photocopy in a drawer is a liability of its own; a check nobody wrote down is no answer at all.

21

Nobody younger than 21 may perform or work in any capacity at an adult entertainment establishment.

Fla. Stat. 787.30(2) →
4 IDs

A driver licence or state ID, a passport, or a US uniformed services ID, checked carefully before the person works.

Fla. Stat. 787.30(3) →
No defence

Not knowing the person’s age, or being lied to about it, is not a defence. Working nude under 21 makes it a felony.

Will not put anybody on tonight’s sheet without a check on file.

Not a reminder. The button refuses, with the reason beside it, while a worker has never been checked, was checked and is under 21, or — where your city or county issues a work card — holds a card that has run out or a location form that is overdue. An expired ID is refused as a check at all. There is no override.

How it works

Check the ID once, keep the answer for good

Look at the ID in person

Pick the kind of document, type who issued it, its expiry and the date of birth, and who is checking. Usher works out 21 or over and throws the date of birth away.

Keep the check, not the card

What stays is the kind of ID, who issued it, who checked it, the date, and the answer. No number, no picture, nothing a thief could use.

Open the doors

Tonight’s sheet lets on everybody with a check on file showing 21 or over, and nobody else. The work-card expiry and the location form ride along where your county asks for them.

What it will never do

It keeps the answer. Never the ID.

A drawer full of photocopied licences is a breach waiting to happen. Usher records the check and nothing a stranger could use.

No copies of IDs.No picture, no scan, no number. There is nowhere to put one.
No dates of birth.Typed in to work out the answer, then thrown away.
Not a background check. It records that an ID was looked at. Your city’s work card, where there is one, is the background check.
It never touches a payment. No dances, no tips, no house fees. The fee is flat and it is for software.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

Does the bartender need checking too?

In Florida, yes: the rule covers anybody who performs or works in any capacity. Usher has a role for entertainers and one for staff, and the door is the same for both.

Why not keep a copy of the ID?

Because a copy is one more thing to lose. The question you will be asked is whether you checked, who did, when, and what it said. Usher keeps exactly that.

We are not in Florida.

Many cities and counties set their own minimum age and their own work card. Usher holds the check the same way anywhere; turn on the work card in Settings if yours issues one, and set how many days the location form is due after a first shift.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is a file that argues with you. Read section 787.30 and your local ordinance with somebody who advises on them.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, emailed to the address you give at checkout within two working days. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.

Two on tonight’s sheet already. Cami cannot join them: her work card ran out on Wednesday, after a month of nights when she was fine. Demi’s location form is two days overdue, Esme has not been checked, and Faith was turned away three weeks ago — and nothing about her is kept but that.
