Wristband puts an age check in front of your site with one script tag. The visitor photographs their ID, we read the date of birth on our own GPU, and an adult walks in with a signed pass you can check. You pay per check. We keep nothing about the visitor.
Nothing opens in this browser — this one takes a job and does the work on our own graphics cards in Oregon. The free allowance below is how you try it: 25 checks, no card and no payment, on the key you are issued.
Runs on this computer today. The gate opens to real sites when two pieces are in place — see below.
The problem
The vendors want a contract, a minimum and a developer to wire them in. A small shop has none of the three, and the statutes do not care. What a small shop can do is paste a line into its pages — so that is all Wristband asks.
A script tag on your pages. Visitors with a pass see nothing; everybody else sees the gate.
No photo, name, document number, birthday or age — not in our log, not in the pass. Several of these statutes forbid keeping it.
Only an adult gets a wristband, signed with your door’s own secret. Check it with us, or on your own server without asking.
The gate opens to real sites when every photo a visitor uploads is checked against known abuse material with PhotoDNA, and the gate has a public https address. Wristband refuses to start public without both, and says so rather than opening early.
How it works
Your site's address, how long a pass lasts, and whose rule — or let the visitor pick their state.
One script tag on every page. Keep the door's secret on your server.
The visitor's browser sends the wristband as a cookie. Your server checks it, free.
What it will never do
A gate that stores ID photos is a breach waiting to happen, and you would inherit it.
Pricing
A check is one document read and decided. Unreadable documents are free, and checking a wristband is free.
Try the gate on your own site.
A small shop's month of new visitors.
A store with steady traffic.
Paid in bitcoin through our own checkout; the checks are added to your key as soon as the payment confirms. Your licence key is emailed to you within two working days of payment.
Checkout is our own bitcoin server, not a card processor. The units you buy are added to your key: buy from the Buy more box inside the program and they arrive on their own once the payment confirms, or buy here and paste the invoice number from your receipt into that box.
Questions
No. It reads the date of birth printed on the document and decides the age. It does not compare the face to a selfie, and the page says so.
Once per pass. You choose how long a pass lasts, from an hour to 30 days.
The audit log: when, which rule, pass or fail, and whether a wristband was issued. Nothing about the person.
The table covers the US states with age-verification laws, the UK, Germany and France, as entered on the rule version stamped on every record. Anywhere else gets 18, and the log says the row was missing.
A key. One line of text, issued to you and shown exactly once — only its hash is kept here, so it cannot be looked up later and we could not tell you what yours is. Every key arrives with a free allowance already on it, which is the tier at the top of the pricing above, and the work starts the first time you send a job with that key on it.
Each job is metered in the unit named in the pricing, and a unit that fails — a file that will not read, a row the model held back — is not charged and is named in the job report rather than silently skipped. When an allowance runs out the next job is refused before any work starts, with the number it used printed on the refusal.
More units are bought in bitcoin. The checkout is a bitcoin server we run ourselves. Buy from the Buy more box inside the program and the units are added to your key on their own as soon as the payment confirms; buy from the plan buttons above and paste the invoice number from your receipt into that same box. Each payment adds its units once, to one key.
Make a key, make a door for your site, paste the line, and open your own page.
