Tallage Georgia Adult Entertainment Assessment Worksheet
For adult entertainment establishments in Georgia, and their bookkeepers

Opened in September? It is still $5,000.

Tallage works the Georgia state operation assessment for each venue: 1% of last year’s gross revenue against the $5,000 floor, the greater, and the April 30 due date. It checks the books month by month against the sales-tax returns the Department already has, names any gap in dollars, and for a late year shows the penalty and interest running.

The problem

Every year by April 30, and the books must match the returns.

Since 2017 every adult entertainment establishment in Georgia pays the greater of 1% of the previous year’s gross revenue or $5,000, by April 30, to the Safe Harbor for Sexually Exploited Children Fund. Gross revenue is read from the returns already filed with the Department, so the books have to agree with the sales-tax returns. There is no proration.

1% or $5,000

whichever is greater, of the previous calendar year’s gross revenue.

a venue that opened late in the year still owes the $5,000 floor.

Will not mark a year paid that is not settled.

Not a reminder. Filed and paid refuses, with the reason named, while the year is not over, a month is missing, the books and the sales-tax returns disagree, the confirmation number is missing, or the amount paid is less than the assessment. Paid late, it is written down with the warning that DOR will bill penalty and interest.

How it works

Venues, revenue, assessment

Set each venue

Where it is, and the penalty and interest settings, which the owner confirms each January.

Enter the gross

Month by month from the books, against the gross on the sales-tax returns. A gap is named in dollars.

Work the assessment

1% against the $5,000 floor, the due date, and for a late year the penalty, interest and what it comes to today.

What it will never do

It works the assessment. The Georgia Tax Center takes it.

Tallage files nothing. You file and pay on the Georgia Tax Center.

No filing.Nothing goes to the Department. Tallage prints the assessment.
No guessed interest. The penalty and interest settings are confirmed by the owner each year.
It is not an accountant. Not tax advice.
It never touches a payment. The licence is for software.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

We opened in September.

There is no proration. A venue that opened late still owes the $5,000 floor.

Why must the books match the returns?

The Department reads gross revenue from the returns already filed with it. A gap is the first thing it asks about.

What if we are late?

Tallage shows the months late, the penalty and the interest, and writes down a late payment with the warning that DOR will bill the rest.

Is this tax advice?

No. It is the worksheet your bookkeeper would otherwise build by hand.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, emailed to the address you give at checkout within two working days. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.

One invented venue is over the floor and paid on time, one under it and paid in June, and one opened in September with books $12,000 apart from its returns and nothing filed. Tallage shows what each owes.
