Shopwalker keeps a map of every display — restricted or not, in sight of the entrance or a window, and what screens it — and the manager’s daily walk-through of five checks, which cannot be signed while anything restricted is in sight unscreened. It logs every minor turned away and confirms every staff member is 18 or over.

The problem
Texas Penal Code 43.24 makes it a Class A misdemeanor to display harmful material while reckless about whether a minor is present — and a felony to use a minor to help. Most states have a display law of the same shape. A dated daily walk-through, a map of what is in sight of the entrance and windows, and a log of minors turned away is the record that answers the charge.
misdemeanor: displaying harmful material while reckless about a minor being present.
Tex. Penal Code § 43.24 →the walk-through is signed: windows, entrance, screens, signs and the door ID check.
to hire, employ or use a minor to help — which is why every staff member is age-checked.
Not a reminder. The walk-through refuses, with the reason named, while the display map has a restricted display in sight of the door or a window with no named screen, or a box is unticked with no note of what was done. Missed open days are listed. A staff member under 18 is flagged. There is no override.
How it works
Each display: restricted or not, in sight of the entrance or a window, and what screens it.
Five checks: windows, entrance, every screen in place, adults-only signs, the door ID check staffed. Sign it.
Every minor turned away, with why and who — no names. Every staff member confirmed 18 or over.
What it will never do
Shopwalker does not decide what is harmful material. It records what was in sight and what screened it.

Questions
A named screen: a blinder rack, an opaque cover, film on the glass, a partition. In sight with no screen is a fault.
Because it shows the door was checked. Shopwalker records why and when, never a name.
Texas is the example. Most states have a display law of the same shape.
No. It is the log you wish you had kept.
The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, emailed to the address you give at checkout within two working days. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.
The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.
The invented store has a new end-cap by the front door with restricted covers in sight and no blinder, two days with no walk-through, and a new hire with no age check. Its window display, screened by film, is correctly clear.
