Rejoinder Member Data Request Clock
For adult membership sites with members in states with privacy laws

An extension told on day 46 does not extend anything.

Rejoinder puts every member’s request to see, delete, correct or copy their data on Connecticut’s clock — 45 days, one 45-day extension only if told with a reason inside the first 45, a refusal with its reason and how to appeal, an appeal answered in 60, a withdrawal of consent acted on in 15 — and keeps what was sent.

The problem

Forty-five days, and the extension has rules of its own.

Connecticut’s privacy law says a business answers a member’s data request within forty-five days, extendable once by forty-five more — but only if the member is told, and told why, inside the first forty-five. A refusal gives the reason and how to appeal, and the appeal is answered in writing within sixty days. Other states follow a similar shape with their own numbers.

45 days

to respond to a request, extendable once by forty-five days.

Connecticut General Statutes →
60 days

to answer an appeal in writing.

15 days

to stop processing after consent is withdrawn.

Will not let a late notice move the date.

An extension notice after day 45 is called out and does not move the due date. A refusal with no reason is refused, and one without the appeal route is a stop. A second request within twelve months is marked. Other states run on Connecticut’s numbers until the site confirms its own.

How it works

Requests, state rules, the file

Log each request

Member, state, what they asked, the day it came in. Rejoinder shows the due date.

Answer it on time

Any extension notice and its reason, the answer and outcome, the refusal’s reason and appeal route, and the appeal.

Confirm each state

Connecticut’s 45 / 45 / 60 / 15 to start; every other state confirmed or changed. Print the file.

What it will never do

It keeps the clock. It sends nothing.

Rejoinder tells you what is due and when. You answer the member.

No emails sent. You answer; Rejoinder records the day and the outcome.
No member data.It keeps the request, not the member’s records.
It is not a lawyer. Not legal advice.
It never touches a payment. The subscription is for software.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

Can we take more than 45 days?

Once, by forty-five more, and only if the member is told why inside the first forty-five.

What must a refusal include?

The reason, and how to appeal. Rejoinder will not save a refusal without its reason.

What about other states?

They start on Connecticut’s numbers until you confirm or change them.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is the clock you wish you had kept.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, emailed to the address you give at checkout within two working days. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.

Open the demo before the next request

The invented site has a late access request, an extension notice sent late, another with no reason, a refusal with no appeal route, an appeal due in four days, a withdrawal with six days left, and Texas running on Connecticut’s numbers.
