Escheat Dormant Performer Balances
For creator platforms and cam sites holding unpaid performer balances

A performer who went quiet is still owed — by the state, eventually.

Escheat ages every unpaid performer balance against the dormancy rules of the state it belongs to — the owner’s last known address, or the state of incorporation when there is none — shows the day it goes dormant, the due-diligence letter window and the report it lands on, and totals each state’s report.

Opens in this browser with an invented cam site already in it. No account, no email address, nothing installed.

The problem

Unpaid balances become unclaimed property.

After a dormancy period with no activity, money owed to someone becomes unclaimed property and must be turned over to the state — uncashed pay and credit balances included. Before reporting, the owner is written to inside a set window. Every state has its own dormancy period, cut-off and report date. A platform holding hundreds of small performer balances has a report most years.

Dormancy

a period with no activity, after which property becomes unclaimed and goes to the state.

Pay and balances

uncashed payroll checks and credit balances are both unclaimed property.

November 1

the report date most states use — the ones that differ are moved in the table.

Will not let a state’s rule be assumed.

The state table is a starting point, not legal advice, and the page says so. Each state a site reports to is confirmed with one press before it counts. A missed letter window, a late report, a balance with no address and an unconfirmed rule are each on the file. “Owner answered” restarts the clock.

How it works

Balances, reports, state rules

List each balance

The performer, their state or none, the amount, the last activity, and whether it is pay or an earnings balance.

Work the reports

Each state’s coming report, what goes on it and the total. Mark it filed and those balances come off.

Confirm the rules

Dormancy, cut-off and report date per state, the state of incorporation and the letter threshold.

What it will never do

It ages the balances. It files nothing.

Escheat sends no letter and files no report. It tells you which are due and when.

No letters sent. You send the due-diligence letter; Escheat records the day.
No filing. You file each state’s report.
It is not a lawyer. The state table is a starting point, not legal advice.
It never touches a payment. The subscription is for software.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

Which state gets the money?

The owner’s last known address state, or with no address, the state the platform is incorporated in.

What restarts the clock?

Any activity or contact from the owner. Press “Owner answered” and the balance ages from that day.

Are the state rules right?

The table is a starting point. Confirm each state you report to, and change any number that differs.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is the list you wish you had kept.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, emailed to the address you give at checkout within two working days. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.

The invented Delaware cam site missed a letter window, has a Texas balance a year late, one balance with no address, California’s report twelve days off and three state rules never confirmed. Escheat puts every one on the file.
