Briefing Harassment Policy and Training File
For adult entertainment facilities and cabarets in Illinois

Hired on the 9th. Given the policy on the 19th.

Briefing keeps the date each worker was handed the written harassment policy and in which languages, and every general and supplemental hospitality training they finished — and will not sign a year’s file while any worker is missing a piece.

The problem

Illinois counts a cabaret as a bar.

Illinois law puts extra harassment-prevention duties on bars and counts adult entertainment facilities and cabarets among them: a written policy given to each new employee in their first calendar week, in English and in Spanish, and supplemental hospitality training at least once a year, on top of the general yearly training every employer owes every employee.

Week one

the written policy goes to each new employee in their first calendar week of employment.

Will not sign a year with a worker missing.

Not a reminder. Sign the year’s file refuses, naming each worker and what is missing, while anyone hired that year has no policy, got it after their first week or in one language only, or anyone employed that year has no general or no supplemental training dated that year. A signed year is frozen. There is no override.

How it works

Hire, hand over, train

Record each hire

The name, the role and the hire date.

Record the policy

The day the written policy was handed over, and which languages.

Record the training

Each general and supplemental session, the date and the provider — then sign the year when nobody is missing.

What it will never do

It keeps the file. It does not give the training.

Briefing records what your business did.

No training is sold.Use the course or trainer your counsel approves; Briefing records it.
It writes no policy.Your policy is yours. Briefing records when it was handed over.
It is not legal advice.Counsel decides who counts and what satisfies the law.
It never touches a payment. The subscription is for software.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

Do entertainers count?

Ask your counsel. Briefing will track anyone you add, employee or contractor.

What is a first calendar week?

Briefing counts seven days from the hire date by default. Change it in Settings if your counsel reads it differently.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is the file an inspector or a lawyer asks for, kept as you go.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, emailed to the address you give at checkout within two working days. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.

Open the demo before December

Last year’s file is signed. This year’s is not: a server got the policy ten days after starting, a door hire got it in English only, and two workers never sat the supplemental session.
