Blowup SD-to-HD catalogue upscaler
For studios with a decade-old standard-definition library

Your 2008 catalogue is unsellable in 480p. Queue it tonight.

Blowup works through your old SD titles overnight: deinterlaced if needed, kept at their true shape, cleaned, enlarged to 720p or 1080p, and colour-converted for HD players - with a before/after still for each. A careful classical upscale, not AI, and every file says so.

Nothing opens in this browser — this one takes a job and does the work on our own graphics cards in Oregon. The free allowance below is how you try it: 60 minutes, no card and no payment, on the key you are issued.

Runs on this computer today, on titles on its own disks.

The problem

Storefronts list HD first. Your back catalogue is not HD.

Hundreds of titles shot on SD earn nothing because a 2026 storefront buries 480p. Re-editing them is out of the question; a careless upscale stretches 4:3 into 16:9, leaves the interlacing combs in, and gets the colours wrong. Blowup does the five things that matter, from the file itself, while you sleep.

BT.709

SD colour converted to HD's, and tagged so - the commonest fault in upscaled catalogues, fixed.

True shape

A 16:9 DVD becomes 1920x1080, a 4:3 one 1440x1080. Never stretched, never letterboxed.

Not AI

A careful classical upscale. The page, the sheet and every file's own metadata say so.

This computer's disks only, for now.

Blowup reads titles on its own machine. Uploads open when every title uploaded is checked against known abuse material with PhotoDNA and there is a public https address.

How it works

Point, queue, sleep

Point it at the titles

Files, or whole folders.

Pick 720p or 1080p

Each title is measured as it is queued.

Sleep

The queue runs overnight; the HD files and before/after stills are there in the morning.

What it will never do

It enlarges. It does not pretend.

An upscale sold as native HD is a complaint waiting to happen.

No invented detail.Classical scaling, labelled as an upscale in the file itself.
No stretching. The true display shape, always.
No touching the original.A new file, every time.
No charge for a failure.Only finished titles are charged.

Paid in bitcoin through our own checkout; the minutes are added to your key as soon as the payment confirms. Your licence key is emailed to you within two working days of payment.

Checkout is our own bitcoin server, not a card processor. The units you buy are added to your key: buy from the Buy more box inside the program and they arrive on their own once the payment confirms, or buy here and paste the invoice number from your receipt into that box.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

Is this AI upscaling?

No. It is a careful classical upscale. AI super-resolution invents detail and can invent it wrongly; for most SD masters, correct deinterlacing, shape and colour are what make the difference.

Will it look like native HD?

No, and it says so in the file. It will look like the best your SD master can look on an HD screen.

Does it slow my machine down?

It runs overnight at below-normal priority, one title at a time, on the graphics chip.

What about my originals?

Never touched. Every HD file is new.

What do I actually get when I pay?

A key. One line of text, issued to you and shown exactly once — only its hash is kept here, so it cannot be looked up later and we could not tell you what yours is. Every key arrives with a free allowance already on it, which is the tier at the top of the pricing above, and the work starts the first time you send a job with that key on it.

Each job is metered in the unit named in the pricing, and a unit that fails — a file that will not read, a row the model held back — is not charged and is named in the job report rather than silently skipped. When an allowance runs out the next job is refused before any work starts, with the number it used printed on the refusal.

More units are bought in bitcoin. The checkout is a bitcoin server we run ourselves. Buy from the Buy more box inside the program and the units are added to your key on their own as soon as the payment confirms; buy from the plan buttons above and paste the invoice number from your receipt into that same box. Each payment adds its units once, to one key.
