Avowal Sponsored-Post Disclosure Log
For creators who take brand deals: paid posts, free products, discount codes and affiliate links

“#spon” in a pile of hashtags is not a disclosure.

Avowal keeps every brand deal and every post made for it — the disclosure words exactly as posted, where they sat, whether a story had an overlay, whether a video said it and showed it, how often a live stream repeated it — and checks each one against the FTC’s guide for influencers. Each post shows clear, or exactly what to fix.

The problem

The FTC wants it plain, and where people will see it.

Any financial or material connection to a brand has to be disclosed, and the FTC’s guide for influencers says what counts: plain words like “ad” or “sponsored”, with the message rather than behind “more”, laid over a story, said and shown in a video, and repeated during a live stream. Most creators do some of it. A brand’s legal team checks all of it.

Any connection

money, a free product, a discount or a family tie: the FTC says disclose it.

FTC, Disclosures 101 →
Hard to miss

where the disclosure has to be: with the message, not hidden behind “more” or on the profile.

FTC, Disclosures 101 →
Again and again

a live stream repeats the disclosure periodically, not once at the start.

FTC, Disclosures 101 →

Will not call a post clear that is not.

Each post is checked as it is written down: vague words like “sp”, “spon” or “collab”, a disclosure at the end or among hashtags, a story with no overlay, a video disclosed only in its description, a live stream that said it once, or a disclosure in another language from the post. The post shows exactly what to fix until it passes.

How it works

Deals, posts, report

Record the deal

The brand, the connection — paid, free product, discount, affiliate — and what was given.

Log each post

The words exactly as posted, where they sat, overlay, said and shown, live minutes and repeats, and the language.

Print the report

Deal by deal, every post that needs fixing and why, to send the brand or keep on file.

What it will never do

It checks your words. It does not post them.

Avowal writes nothing to any platform and reads nothing from one.

No platform link.Nothing is posted, scraped or connected. You write down what you posted.
No guessing. The 15-minute live-stream repeat is a house rule; the FTC says only “periodically”.
It is not a lawyer.A warning letter goes to one. Avowal is the log you take with you.
It never touches a payment. The licence is for software.

Questions

The ones we actually get asked

Is the platform’s own paid-partnership tag enough?

The FTC’s guide says not to rely on it alone. Avowal checks the words you wrote as well.

What counts as plain words?

“Ad”, “sponsored”, or “Thanks to Acme for the free product”. Not “sp”, “spon”, “collab” or a lone “thanks”.

Do affiliate links count?

Yes. A commission is a financial connection.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is the log you wish you had kept.

What do I actually get when I pay?

The demo on this page is the whole program, running on invented records. Paying gets you a licence key — one line of text, emailed to the address you give at checkout within two working days. Paste it into the program and from then on it keeps your own records. Until then, nothing you type into it is kept.

The key is checked inside the page, on your own machine. It never calls us, so there is still no account and nothing about your business goes anywhere. If you ever stop paying, your records stay exactly where they are, read-only, and Export still hands you every one of them.

The invented creator wrote “#spon” in a pile of hashtags, posted a story with no overlay, disclosed a review video only in its description, said “sponsored” once in a 90-minute live stream, and put an English disclosure on a Spanish post. Avowal names every fix.
