A response is ready when every evidence item its reason code and ground require is indexed. It is submitted on a date on or before its deadline, with everything in it gathered by that date. Past the deadline with nothing submitted, the dispute is lost by default — which is what the network does too, whether or not anybody writes it down.
Three dates can bind a dispute: the network's response window, your acquirer's internal cutoff, and whatever date the notice itself printed. The one that governs is the earliest. The network's is almost never it — the acquirer needs time to package the pack before the network's window shuts, and it takes that time out of yours.
An index, not a locker. Each item is a type, a description, the date it was gathered and where it is held — a ticket number, a log export, a drawer. The screenshots and statements stay in your own systems; this is how you find them at four o'clock on the last day.
